1989 – The Educational Scientific cooperative “Quantum” was established. The clubs for those who apply for higher education were founded that year. 1991 – The first private college was founded in the republic. The college had only 9-10 grades with the biases of Physico Mathematical, Chemio Biological, Economics, and Humanities. On March 6, 1992 the college got the certificate N 001 from the Department of Education of the RA. 1993 – the college opened its first 8th grade. 1994 – Based on the government bill the college graduates got the right to enter the faculties of the Physico Mathematical department with an interview. 1995 – The first 7th grade was opened in the college. The first computer laboratory was established in “Quantum”. The minister of Education and Science Ashot Bleyan visited the college. 1996 – The first 6th grade was opened. 1997 – The methods of teaching based on applying information technologies in classrooms were implemented. The college had its first 5th grade that year. The socio-psychological service was put into action. 1998 – Quantum college was awarded “The Grand Prize” by the Municipality of Yerevan for winning the municipal level of the Olympiads. The minister of Education and Science visited the college and, as to the pioneer in the Olympiad movement, he presented the college some books from his own library. The student of Quantum Tigran Ktikyan came home from the Mendeleyev International Olympiad on Chemistry with the diploma of a winner for the first time. Samvel Poghosyan took part in the International Olympiad on Informatics in Portugal. 1999 – Tigran Ktikyan took part in the Mendeleyev International Olympiad on Chemistry for the second time and brought the winner’s diploma. The student of the college Suren Samarchyan took part in the 40-th International Olympiad on Mathematics. The 9th grade students had military readiness classes in the student camp of Yerevan State University in Dilijan during the summer holidays. 2000 - Quantum student Areg Meliksetyan took part in the World Olympiad on Mathematics and Arge Beketovski took part in the Informatics World Olympiad. The second computer laboratory was opened with an Internet connection. 2001 – Quantum student Mkrtich Soghomonyan was recognized the exceptional winner of the students’ republic Olympiads of 2000-2001 academic year and got the special prize of the Minister of Education and Science Ministry. For having exceptionally high results in the students’ republic Olympiads Quantum college got a special diploma from the Ministry of Education and Science of the RA. For showing the best results in the republic Olympiads, Quantum college got a “honouring certificate” from the vice-president of the RA and its student Mkrtich Soghomonyan got a special award. College student Sargis Haytsoyan was awarded with the winner’s diploma in the Mendeleyev International Olympiad. Vahagn Eghikyan, Zhirayr Avetisyan and Mkrtich Soghomonyan had brilliant success in the 6th International Olympiad on Astronomy. The teachers and the students celebrated the opening of the “Ughetsir” camp of Quantum college. In 2002 Yerevan State University rector and academician R. Martirosyan, Pro-rector academician E. Chubaryan, faculty deans, professors Y. Vardanyan and S. Harutiunyan visited Quantum college. The college was awarded the “Grand prize” of Yerevan Municipality for constantly being the best in the municipal Olympiads for already five years. The minister of Education and Science Levon Mkrtchyan visited the college. On the occasion of Quantum’s 10-th anniversary some workers of the Ministry of Education and Science, representatives of international institutions, presidents of some IT field companies visited the college. For the apparent achievements in the field of education and on the occasion of “Quantum’s” 10th anniversary R. Vardanyan got the highest award of Yerevan State University: a gold medal. The IT Development Promotion Board in the head of Andranik Margaryan gave its approval to “Aragats” project for using IT in class and teaching Informatics in secondary schools of Armenia. (The project was developed in Quantum college). Sergey Shahverdyan became the winner of the Republic Olympiad. In 2003 20 students took part in the international Olympiads on Informatics, Astronomy, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics from the whole republic out of which 10 were Quantum students. They took 5 of the 11 awards. From the 15th International Olympiad on Informatics which was held in the USA, Quantum students Vahe Musoyan and Sargis Gevorgyan came back with the third rate (bronze) medals. In the 8th International Olympiad on Astronomy which was held in Stockholm, our students Zhirayr Avetisyan and Mkrtich Soghomonyan got gold medals and Artavazd Minasyan got a bronze one. According to the medal number Armenia and India were in the first place among all other countries that year. In 2004 Quantum students took part in the Olympiads on Informatics, Astronomy, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics and as a result got 6 medals. The Olympiad team led by Armen Oskanyan and Sergay Nersisyan took part in the International Olympiad on Astronomy in the Crimea. Quantum student Tigran Nazaryan got a gold medal and Artak Pepoyan got a bronze one. In 2005 Quantum student Vahe Musoyan took part in the World Olympiad on Informatics and got a gold medal. Quantum principal R. Vardanyan got the highest prize of Yerevan State University: a gold medal for the “Obvious Achievements in the Field of Education”. The same year, in August, the college hosted a dancing group from Yurga, Kemerovo region; Russian Federation called “Russianochka” with the two teachers. Quantum camp also hosted the ambassador of Russian Federation in Armenia. In 2006, with the support of “Incubator of Enterprises” foundation, the Summer School of Informatics-2006 was organized in Quantum camp, in which students from different countries (Russia, Georgia, and Lebanon) and from Artsakh took part. The purpose of the programme was to promote the use of IT in class and in the educational process. The minister of Education and Science visited the college to get acquainted with the achievements of the college. Quantum celebrated the 15th anniversary of its establishment. On the basis of RA president’s bill of 12.09.2006 R. Vardanyan was rewarded with the title of an “Honoured Pedagogue of the Republic of Armenia”. The college chess playing team became the winner of the regional chess playing tournament. Quantum student Davit Episkoposyan got a gold medal in the international Mendeleyev Olympiad on Chemistry.
In 2007 in the scopes of a Canadian government programme CESO Fred Speckeen, a volunteer from this organization, visited the college. As a result a project was worked out for organizing Quantum infrastructure control. In March, Nelida Antuana Baragano, who is the head of the IBO (The International Baccalaureate Organization) regional office, visited Quantum college. Getting acquainted with the educational experience of the college she suggested getting the college involved in their programme. In April two teachers of “Rinman” college Gayaneh Gasparyan (Physicist) and Ollie Graenhem (Biologist) from Eskilstown, Sweden, visited Quantum. A contract of cooperation was signed in order to have educational programme and professional satff exchange between these two sides. Quantum student Martun Karapetyan got a bronze medal in the International Olympiad on Informatics, and Arshavir Gharhamanyan brought a bronze medal from the International Olympiad on Chemistry. In 2008 the students of the college achieved new and new heights in the international Olympiads. Hayk Saribekyan got a gold medal in the International Olympiad on Astronomy. 15 years old Hyak was announced the winner of the 5th “Up to 30 years’ old Programmers’ Panarmenian Competition”. Student Martun Karapetyan took a bronze medal in the interanational Olympiad on Informatics. Two volunteer advisors Fred Speckeen and Joan Speckeen of CASO project of the Canadian Government visited Quantum college. Fred Speckeen prepared the plan for Quantum being involved into the IB programme and J. Speckeen worked on a plan of improving the hygienic conditions and implementing the regulation standards in the college. In November a group of college teachers and students visited “Rinman” college, Sweden as a result of which the contract about the both-sided visits was verified. In 2009 Hayk Saribekyan got a certificate from the International Olympiad on Mathematics, and also a silver medal from the International Olympiad on Informatics, Hayk Galstyan got one from the International Olympiad on Physics. Hayk Tepanyan returned from the International Olympiad on Astronomy, which was held in China, with a gold medal. In the scopes of the order of the Ministry of Education and Science and with the loan-funding of the World Bank the first Electronic Learning Materials for Grades 7-9 in English and Russian were developed and delivered to all secondary schools of Armenia. A volunteer of the Canadian CASO programme Barbara Old visited the college. In November the college took part in the EXPO exhibition and got a special prize. The minister of Education and Science A.
