Chair of Armenian Language and Literature

 

Both highly qualified experienced and young specialists are engaged in all the chairs of Quantum College. The Chair of Armenian Language and Literature is not an exception in this aspect. The 20 years of work experience prove that the Chair lived up to all the great expectations of the College. Both state graduating and acceptence examinations stand as the best proof for it. The improvement of the effectiveness of teaching literature is particularly focused upon.

Hripsime Bayramyan is the head of the Chair since 2011. She has a pedagogical work experience of 22 years, the last 17 of which she has been working at Quantum. The other members of the Chair are Gayane Andreasyan, Petros Kareyan, Mariam Apryan, Armine Kheranyan, Sima Matevosyan and Lilit Hakobyan.

 

 

Chair of Russian Language and Literature

          The main goal of this chair is to evoke among children love for Russian language. This results in students being excellent at the subject and actively participating in the organizational processes of numerous events.

            From the first days of the foundation of the College the Chair was successfully run by Naira Martiryan who currently works at YSU Faculty of Russian Philology as a deputy dean. Since 2008 the work of the Chair has been conducted by Gayane Yeghoyants who has been working at Quantum for already 13 years. She is a co-author of two handbooks written for secondary schools. She participated in the programme Days of Armenia in Russia, dedicated to the development of the relations between the two countries, as well as the programme IEARN and was awarded with the diploma by Yerevan mayor. Other teachers working in this chair are Susanna Adamyan, Satenik Boyajyan, Anahit Voskanyan, Khachatur Petrosyan, Parandzem Janyan.

 

Chair of English Language

            It isn’t a matter of coincidence that Quantum has preferred English as a foreign language. It gives our students an opportunity to communicate with the whole world and achieve new horizons.

            The activity of the Chair has been very fruitful during the last 10 years. An electronic handbook for 7-9 classes was created in this period. It is a subsidiary material for secondary schools.

            Karine Margaryan has 21 years of pedagogical work experience, 15 of which at Quantum. She received her bachelor’s degree at the Foreign Languages Department of Leningrad Pedagogical University after A. Gertsen, and her master’s at AUA International Relations Department.

She was the head of the Chair since 1996/ She participated in the British Council trainings as a methodist-instructor. Karine Margaryan was the 2003 winner of the programme PIE.

Elizaveta Baghdasaryan is currently the head of the Chair. She has 28 years of pedagogical work experience, 10 of which at Quantum. She is a co-author of a reading-book and an electronic handbook for school. Mrs. Baghdasaryan has participated in the trainings organized by the British Council as a methodist-instructor. Other specialists of the Chair are Lilit Arakelyan, Vehanush Hovhannisyan, Ruzanna Margaryan, Melanya Hakobyan, Hasmik Mirzoyan, Anahit Demurchyan, Sirarpi Karapetyan.

                     

 

Chair of history

 

            Life is a complex problem with numerous obscurities the answers to which are known only to a few people. One of them is professor, PhD in Historical Sciences, head of the Quantum chair of History for many years Vladimir Ghazakhetsyan. He is author of 20 monographs, more than 100 scientific articles.

            The chair of History occupies a very important place at the college. Some of the chair members are scientific workers. They are the authors of the supporting electronic handbook “Armenian Church in School Textbooks”. A similar work has been done on the topic Armenian Culture.

            Evgenya Ghalumyan is the head of the Chair since 2010. She has a pedagogical work experience of 35 years, 18 of which at Quantum. Other teacher of the Chair are Araksya Simonyan, Sedrak Simonyan, Lilit Hovhannisyan, Seda Qocharyan and Mikayel Malkhasyan.

 

 

 

Chair of Geography

            The head of the Chair is YSU lecturer, PhD in Geographical Sciences, Associate Professor Seyran Suvaryan. He has 25 years of pedagogical work experience, 20 of which at Quantum. He is author of about 30 articles, 25 maps, 5 methodological handbooks.

            For many years, since the foundation of Quantum, the works of the Chair have been conducted by PhD in Geographical Sciences, lecturer at YSU Chaif of Physical Geography, member of a number of international organizations Trahel Vardanyan. Parandzem Davtyan, Vardan Asatryan and Gor Aleksanyan also work at the chair of Geography.

 

Chair of Mathematics

 

            The effectiveness of work of this chair with high professionalism and great pedagogical potencial is obvious both during the university admission examinations, and the city, republic and international school olympiads, where the students of Quantum show their excellent knowledge.

            The head of the Chair is PhD in Physics-Mathematics, Associate Professor Smbat Shahinyan who is also a lecturer at YSU. He is author of 2 teaching and 2 teaching-supporting handbooks, about 30 scientific articles, 12 scientific theses. Other highly qualified teachers working at the Chair are Mher Martirosyan, Arman Karapetyan, Artak Afyan, Aghasi Manucharyan, Karine Margaryan, Armine Hovhannisyan, Azniv Qaramyan, Ruzanna Melqonyan.

 

 CHAIR OF CHEMISTRY

The chair of Chemistry with highly qualified professionals was formed since the very foundation of the College. At present the number of teachers of this chair is limited to four: Vitush Sargsyan, Susanna Navasardyan, Heghine Galstyan and E. Barseghyan.

The head of the Chair is Vitush Sargsyan, PhD in Chemistry.

 

 

CHAIR OF BIOLOGY

 

The Chair of Biology has  a significant investment in the overall success of the College. This success becomes evident during city, republic and international olympiads from which our students always return with prizes and honours.

The head of the Chair is Levon Asatryan, Laureate of USSR Lenin comerit-union prize, PhD in Biology, who has been working as a teacher since the foundation of the College and afterwards became the head of the Chair and deputy-principal for educational issues.

Other highly qualified specialists that work in this chair are Gohar Khachatryan, Emma Barseghyan and Maria Baghdasaryan.

 

  

CHAIR OF INFORMATICS

 

The Chair of Informatics was founded in 1997 with the beginning of works of implementation of methods based upon information technologies in the teaching process. The main tasks of the Chair include IT implementation in the teaching of other subjects, teacher trainings, creation of new textbooks.

Arsen Darbasyan, PhD in Mathematics and Physics, senior researcher, has been working at Quantum since its foundation and has been the head of the Chair since 1997. Other teachers working in this Chair are Karine Deghoyan, Mery Ghazaryan, Armen Andreasyan.

 

 

CHAIR OF PMP AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION

 

The physical education of students is highly emphasized at Quantum. The lessons of physical education take place in YSU gym-halls, as well as in Quantum gym-hall and sports ground. Besides, lessons of physical and military education are organized at the summer camp Orbit in Aghavnadzor. Currently the teacher of the Chair are Pavel Asilyan, Eghish Nersisyan and Artyom Militonyan.
