Happy Anniversary, Armenia!
Today our millennia-old country celebrates the most significant event of its modern history: the 25th anniversary of its independence. In September 1991 Armenians voted for an independent future. The same day, the Supreme Council of Armenia adopted a decision to exit the USSR and establish an independent state. The age-long dream of Armenians finally came true: after a long pause, independence, a supreme value, was gained to guarantee the nation’s survival, development and dignified life. Quantum College, being the same age as our country, launched a series of festive events on September 17, with a hiking to Aghavnadzor. The hiking was followed by a contest of essays entitled I love my country and a painting and chalk art competition among primary school kids entitled Motherland through my eyes. Early in the morning of September 21 a group of our students gathered in the schoolyard, as initiated by the Student Council, to start a march towards the Republic Sqare where they took part in the festive parade devoted to the 25th anniversary of Armenia's independence.
